Blogs of Three, Let It Be

My friend Sean and I just started a new blog called "The Gargon Terror!" It's a place where we can write about the tacky movies we really like and other related stuff. Should be fun! But that means I'm up to three blogs. Yipes! Well, we'll see how this goes. The blog at the new website:

www.gargonterror.com

Sean had a great idea to start GargonTerror.com, a place for all things Gargon and tacky b-movie and whatever else! So keep checking in and watch as it thrives and grows in the Earth's atmosphere!

Nerd Alert!

Yes, one of the best live acts around, The Aquabats, have announced a new album to be released June 14th! I am psyched! It's called "Charge!", and these track titles look like they might turn out to be great, classic and funny songs! Up there with my favorites, "The Cat With Two Heads" and "Martian Girl From Planet V"!

"CHARGE!!"
1. NOW, STAND BACK FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY!
2. FASHION ZOMBIES!
3. STUCK IN A MOVIE!
4. TIGER RIDER VS. THE TIME SPRINKLER!
5. NERD ALERT!
6. PLASTIC LIPS!
7. LOOK AT ME (I'M A WINNER)!
8. HOT SUMMER NIGHTS (WON'T LAST FOREVER)!
9. MELTDOWN!
10. MECHANICAL APE!
11. DEMOLITION RICKSHAW!
12. WATERSLIDES!
13. AWESOME FORCES!

And the best part is there is a free song available for download! It sounds great! I especially love the Thriller Vincent Price tribute! Click Here!

Speaking of free (and legitimate) music online, check out Amazon.com's free music download thingamajig! (Top downloads!) Two must have downloads: Playground Love by Air, and Montana by John Linnell. Neat!

Greetings, My Friends.

Well, spring is here and along with it, the spring quarter! At De Anza, that is! And with it, the "head" of the animation program at De Anza, Marty McNamara, has gone on a little hiatus and left several visiting animation teachers in his stead. Two of which are former or current stop-motion guys! One is former Vinton animator and local animation director, Scott Nordlund, who knows all the tricks of the Claymation trade including the fabled strata-cut technique, among many other cool things. The other is Carl Willat, of Carl's Fine Films who is an animation director who has probably directed every Hershey's Kiss commercial you've ever seen.

A fun fact: it turns out Carl is a huge fan of Criswell, and has even met him! Yes, Criswell, the famous and often bizarre prognosticator of "Criswell Predicts" fame. Criswell is the man speaking in my first short, "Skullwell Predicts".

Attention: An Awesome Alert!

Oh man! This is so cool! Google Maps just added satellite imagery to their site! Now you can zoom down to seemingly any location in the country! This is the complex where my Grandparents live!

Where I am at! It's the light colored roof across from the T intersection.

Pic One

This is the top of my monitor! Right now!

(bigger version)

My Dad sent me his old Sony Mavica camera, so I can post pics now! Keen!
So this is the top of the monitor, as is. You'll see:

-A wonderful hand sculpted bird my Grandfather made
-A small Chuck sculpted by me around jr high
-My favorite childhood pewter teddy bear, still in its homemade toothpick bed :)
-The flying wing from Raiders of the Lost Ark
-A very cute walking rooster, a gift from Carol Wang
-The California "John Muir" quarter
-A most awesome and seemingly functionless one-footed droid, R1-G4, from Nich Lambert (Does anyone else think it looks a little Dalek-y?)
-Gozira
-Boushh
-A boyhood me in an awesome knight's costume created by my Dad
-The randomly funky Hyper-Mite Matchbox car
-Smess, The Ninny's Chess game pieces
-An awesome postcard of the must-see sci-fi thriller: "IT! The Terror From Beyond Space!" A gift from Sean Dicken. "Keinholz!"
- Obiwan and Yoda, giving sage advice

Thanks Dad!
